Over the festive period the children will not have any written homework. I am asking them to practise their multiplication tables, and I have given them a few OPTIONAL worksheets to help them to do this.
Also, the children have been given a larger than usual selection of books to read. I would like them to read regularly over the holidays, and if possible, it would be very helpful for them to read with a parent and discuss the book. Particularly with the books they have chosen from the library, they are a bit more difficult than usual and so they may need you to help them with reading them. Try to ask them questions about the book to ensure that they have understood what they have read.
Have a lovely holiday everyone! :)

We had great fun in Year 3 this Wednesday, learning how to Ditch the Dirt for World Science Day. We worked in teams to use every day items, such as cotton wool and sand, to filter dirty water to make it cleaner. We understood that it would still be very bad for us to drink it, as it still contains bacteria which we cannot see without a microscope. However we had great fun finding out how to complete the first stage in the water purification process. Well done everyone!

Last Thursday the children of Year 3 performed an amazing assembly, all about their History topic: The Great Fire of London.
They worked so hard in the weeks running up to the event, producing some incredible artwork, and studying hard to learn lots of complex vocabulary.
They worked together to learn a fantastic fire dance...
...and to learn how to sing in rounds.
A huge thank you to all of the parents for the wonderful costumes, and for the time spent at home helping your children to learn their lines.
Congratulations Year 3! You are all superstars! We are so proud of you all!
